Rising Stars - Boys and Girls Age 4

This is an in-house instructional league for boys and girls to learn the basic fundamentals of baseball and to have fun. This division is designed to be an introduction to baseball.   This is a co-ed division, which will meet twice a week at Veterans Park for an hour, to start developing basic baseball skills.

 

Rookies - Boys and Girls Age 5-6

This is an in-house instructional league for boys and girls to learn the basic fundamentals of baseball and to have fun.  Starting at the beginning of the season, the coach will pitch to those kids who are ready for live pitching. Players will meet with their coaches for practices and play 1-2 games a week during May and June. A safety ball is used. All players bat in a roster rotation and rotate to all defensive positions. No team standings or score are kept.

 

Pinto Baseball - Boys Age 7-8

This is an in-house instructional league for boys to continue to learn fundamentals of baseball and to have fun. A regulation baseball is used. All players bat in roster rotation. Players will continue to learn fundamentals of hitting, throwing, basic defense and basic rules. In this division, real baseball is introduced. Starting at the beginning of the season, players will pitch, strikes will be called, and score will be kept. At the end of the season, all teams will participate in an in-house tournament.

 

Mustang Baseball - Boys Age 9-10

This is a transitional in-house league more closely resembling true baseball. A regulation baseball is used. All players bat in roster rotation. Players will learn fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and basic defense and the basic rules and strategies of baseball. The principle difference is pitching, which must be taught in this league. The fundamentals of base stealing are introduced. Team standings are kept.

 

Bronco Baseball - Boys Age 11-12

This league provides higher level of competition.  A regulation baseball is used. All players bat in roster rotation.  Players will continue to learn fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and basic defense and the basic rules and strategy of baseball. The fundamentals of base stealing are expanded upon. Lead-offs are introduced. Team standings are kept.

 

Pony Baseball - Boys Age 13-14

This is a league for young men who are interested in baseball as it was originally designed. All players bat in roster rotation. Team standings are kept as part of the Chain of Lakes Baseball League.

 

8U Softball - Girls Age 7-8

This is an instructional league for girls to continue to teach the fundamentals of softball and to have fun. The players start to learn to pitch to batters; a regulation 11” softball is used. All players bat in roster rotation. Players will continue to learn fundamentals of hitting, throwing, basic defense and basic rules. No team standings are kept. Teams are part of the Nippersink League.

 

10U Softball - Girls Age 9-10

This is a transitional league in which players learn to pitch. A regulation 11” softball is used. All players bat in roster rotation. Players will continue to learn fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and basic defense and the basic rules and strategy of softball. The principle difference is pitching, which must be taught in this league. The fundamentals of base stealing are introduced. Team standings are kept as part of the Nippersink League.

 

12U Softball - Girls Age 11-12

This is a league that provides a higher level of competition. A regulation 12” softball is used. All players bat in roster rotation. Players will continue to learn the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and basic defense and the basic rules and strategy of softball. The fundamentals of base stealing are expanded upon. Team standings are kept as part of the Nippersink League.

 

14U, 16U, 18U Softball - Girls Age 13-18

This is a league for young women who are interested in softball in a form similar to high school ball. All players bat in roster rotation. Team standings are kept as part of the Nippersink League.
